Our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ. — Philippians 3:20

Holy God:  This week, in North America, both Canada and the United States are celebrating their nations, and their birthdays.  Though the residents of these nations have citizenship in their nations and should celebrate that, those of us who love Jeus have citizenship in heaven, and that is to be even more celebrated. Come Lord Jesus come!

We thank you that our nations are free nations where individuals can own property and businesses, can prosper and thrive, and vote for their leaders and governments.  We pray for those who struggle to meet the basic needs of life in food, shelter and freedom.  So many things can put us in bondage including debt, addiction, unemployment and underemployment, health issues including sickness and disease, slavery, human trafficking and abuse, and we pray for freedom to reign in these nations including for the most vulnerable.  We ask all of this in the name of Jesus our Lord and Saviour.  Amen.
